What I’m Loving, Edition November 2024

Hi, Friends! I don’t know about you, but I’m so glad it’s finally November. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I’m looking forward to all the celebrations the next couple months bring. Here are a few of my recent faves!

Something to Read:

  • The Housemaid: I finally jumped on the bandwagon with this book and it did not disappoint. Lots of twists and turns in this one! Stay away from any social media (or friend) who might ruin it for you!
  • The Four Winds: I love pretty much everything Kristin Hannah writes. This one was set in the early 1900’s and centered around the Dust Bowl, an era of our history that I wasn’t very familiar with. I loved following along with the main character, rooting for her as she struggled for survival.
  • The God of the Woods: Another really good book with lots of twists! This one is set in the 1970’s at a summer camp and centers around the owners of the camp whose daughter has gone missing. You won’t believe what happened to her!
  • The Paris Novel: This novel by Ruth Reichl is one of my top fives of the year! Ruth was a food critic for the New York Times and has written several memoirs, including Garlic and Sapphires which I also highly recommend. I believe The Paris Novel was her first foray into fiction and it was delightful! The main character on a search for herself, food being the center of the storyline, a move to Paris – how could you go wrong with a story like that?

A Few Random Things:

  • These silver shoes: Silver flats are all the rage this year and I got these as a starter pair for my birthday to see if I would like them. Well, I LOVE them! I wear these shoes all the time – they’re super comfortable and look great with jeans, skirts, dresses… anything!
  • The Bible Recap Tour: Some friends and I recently went to Nashville to hear Tara Leigh Cobble (of The Bible Recap fame). We had a great time laughing and learning as we heard TLC teach from Psalm 23. I really needed that night out – it reminded me just how much I love God’s Word.
  • That Sounds Fun Episode with Darlene Czech: This episode was a note-taker for sure! I loved hearing from Darlene and how she’s stayed faithful for so many decades of ministry. It was definitely an encouraging episode.

That’s it for today! I’m gearing up to decorate my house for Christmas next weekend. When are you planning to put your tree up?
