What I’m Loving, Edition April 2022

April Favorites are here!

I have lots of favorites this month so picking the ones I wanted to share with you has been hard! I’ve got everything from books and podcast episodes to a new favorite snack and a movie. Here we go!

  1. Find Your People: I’m a huge Jennie Allen fan and her latest book did not not disappoint. It’s all about how to find people you can do life with. If you’re feeling disconnected or if you’re looking to go deeper in your friendships, I highly encourage you to grab a copy of this book. And then let’s talk about it!
  2. This Dadville podcast episode with Bob Goff: Come on, who doesn’t love Bob Goff? He’s funny and interesting and has so many cool stories to tell. I think I could listen to him all day. This podcast though, went even deeper and I found myself crying a few times while listening to him share his heart. If you need some encouragement, this is the podcast for you.
  3. These popcorn balls: I purchased these popcorn balls recently for an event at school and they were a huge hit! Everyone who tried them loved them and kept asking where I’d gotten them. Well, Amazon, of course! If you need a unique snack for something, these might be just the thing!
  4. These condiment cups: My kids love to take carrots and ranch or hummus to school for lunch but they’re  the worst about throwing my good glass containers away with their trash. I’ve been on the hunt for something they could take and I recently found these little condiment cups. They’re inexpensive so I won’t be too mad if they happen to end up in the trash. So far, so good though!
  5. A Long Walk to Water: I recently read this book and fell in love with it and with the characters. It’s a true story, written for middle grades, that follows the story of two children, one in 2008 and one (a lost boy in Sudan) in 1985. It was heartbreaking and inspiring all at the same time. I’m planning to read this beautifully written story with my own children this summer.
  6. CODA: I recently watched this movie with my husband and oldest daughter and as soon as it was over, my husband looked at me and said, “This is going to make your April Favorite Things list, isn’t it?” Well, obviously it did. This movie follows the story of Ruby, the only hearing person in her family, as she pursues her passion amidst the fear of disappointing her family. It was a beautiful portrayal of misunderstandings and loyalty in the context of family, and I cannot recommend it enough. Fair warning: there is some language and other innuendos so it’s not recommended for children.

That’s it for April. As always, I’d love to hear what

you’ve been loving this month!
