What I’m Loving, Edition November 2021

Thanksgiving is over – I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas! Thanksgiving always seems to get overlooked, doesn’t it? At least in recent years, I’ve felt like everyone rushes through the holiday in order to get to December. Thanksgiving is my favorite, though, with no pressure of buying the right gift or being super busy with all the extra Christmas parties and the dreaded holiday crafts. All you have to do is cook and eat, two things I can do.

Our family came in for the long weekend and we had a wonderful time. It was the first time we’ve all been together since, well, I don’t know when.

Here are a few of my favorite things from the past month: (Some links are affiliate)

  1. These adidas: Ok, technically these were an October purchase. More technically, Peter bought them for me for my birthday. But I literally wear them all the time. They’re comfortable enough to work out in and also walk up and down the hallways of my school. So I’d say they were a great purchase!
  2. This podcast: I listened to Annie Downs’ podcast from Indigenous Peoples Day (formerly known as Columbus Day) and I learned so much. Highly recommend!
  3. Another podcast: Carlos Whitaker is a (former?) worship leader, author, and speaker and now has his own podcast. I was first introduced to him years ago when he opened for Jeremy Camp at a concert I attended in Nashville. His music was powerful and I’ve followed him ever since. Anyway, he has a great podcast episode on parenting – if you’re a parent, you need to listen.
  4. Rebekah Lyons’ new devo: This was also a birthday present (so technically another October purchase). I don’t read it every day but when I do, I always get a nugget of truth. Rebekah has great stories and has lived an interesting life from Atlanta to New York to Nashville. She is also the mother of children who were adopted and two children with special needs so obviously I greatly relate to her. If you’re looking for a quick but deep devotional, check this one out!
  5. My Books! Don’t forget about the memoir I recently released – it would be a great read over the holiday season or something to go through with your book club. And for those of you with young moms in your life, grab a copy of my devotional, Mommy Has Crinkles: A Devotion for Worn-out Moms.

Well, I think that’s it for November. I’d love to hear what you’re loving right now! And be on the lookout for my favorite post of the year – All the best books I’ve read in 2021. Can’t wait to share my list with you!
