What I’m Loving, Edition July 2019

Hi, friends! I hope everyone has had a great summer. For us here in Tennessee, summer is almost over, and it is going to be a sad day in our house when school starts back. But for now here are some of my favorite things from the month of July!

  1. Cotton Candy Grapes: Have you tried these yet? My oldest daughter came home from a friend’s house earlier this summer talking about Cotton Candy grapes and I thought she was crazy. Then a couple days later we were shopping at Publix and there they were! We grabbed a bag and oh my goodness! They are so sweet and delicious and they truly do taste like Cotton Candy. If you can find them in your local grocery store, grab a bag and try them!
  2. These podcasts from Focus on the Family: I recently listened to this two part series of podcasts (part 1 here and part 2 here) and was blown away. The guest, Pastor Doug Fields, spoke about the importance of having fun with your children as you parent them. As someone who isn’t exactly super fun, I learned a lot and am trying to implement more fun into my parenting style.
  3. This book: I recently read Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins-Reid and fell in love with it. We all make decisions every single day, not realizing how one tiny decision can totally change the trajectory of our lives. In this book, we see the main character presented with two decisions and then we follow her down different paths to see how her life turns out based on each decision she could’ve made. Now let me say up front that I never liked those “choose-your-own-ending” books as a child so I was a little nervous about this book. But it is totally not like those books at all! It was an interesting concept  and I loved the sweet storyline. I actually read this book in basically one sitting so it’s a great one to take on a last-minute vacation!

And that’s it for July! Enjoy your last few days of summer!
