The summer is halfway over, y’all. I officially start back to work full-time as a speech pathologist on July 31st, and although I’m excited about working with my students, I’m also a little sad to no longer be a stay-at-home mom.
To make me feel a little better, here are a few things I’m loving this month.
- The Crown on Netflix: Has anyone else watched this series? It had been on my “to watch” list for a while so one night Peter and I decided to give it a try. So here’s the deal. It starts off really slow. I mean, rreeeaallllyy sssllloooww…. The first two episodes are sort of snoozers. But if you can get through those, I think you will find the series quite fascinating. (At least, we did.) It follows Queen Elizabeth’s ascension to the throne and the stress it puts on her family. If you know anything about me, then you know I love a good memoir. While every detail of this series isn’t true, I did google several things and the producers got those items correct. If you like a good story or you are really into history or you just like to see how royals live, you will enjoy this show. Season 2 is scheduled to air in November (I think).
- Hot Krispy Kreme: Our family recently moved to Tennessee and we have a Krispy Kreme donut shop in town. I’m not a huge donut fan – if you gave me a choice between a donut and a chocolate chip cookie, I would choose the cookie any day. But we recently drove by KK and noticed the HOT sign lit up in the window. Of course we had to stop! I tried one of their limited edition donuts – a Sea Salt Caramel Donut made with Ghiradelli chocolate. Y’all. I can’t even. These are only being sold for a limited time (I hope they’re still available!) so I urge you to go get one today! Yum!
- Mini vacation in Knoxville with my man: I know what you’re thinking. Knoxville? Really? Look. It wasn’t by choice. (No offense, Knoxville-ites) Peter had to go to Knoxville for a few days so I decided to go with him. Without the kids. We enjoyed eating out at nice restaurants (and I didn’t even need to cut up anyone’s food!), I relaxed by the pool, read a few books, and got a little work done. It was a nice treat!
Those are a few things I’m loving right now. What are some of your favorite things this month?
